January 17, 2003 Re: Working with Magical Farms As new alpaca owners, Michael and I (High Meadow Alpacas in Brentwood, Tn.) were full of questions, and spent a great deal of time doing our homework. The problem is, the more you learn, the more you know that "you don’t know." One of the best things that happened to us is our association with Magical Farms, Jerry and Libby Forstner, their staff, and TRIPP!!!!! Not only do they have top quality animals and bloodlines for the new owner, but for the owner wishing to add to their herd. The input we have received on breeding, bloodlines, additions to our herd, and prompt, almost immediate answers to questions or problems that arise is amazing. The honesty and integrity in how they work with their clients has impressed us greatly. What a security blanket to know they are literally a phone call or email away, should you run into a problem or have any questions. The service they provide their customers is exceptional But we received that same service when we were not clents…and "just looking." Jerry has some excellent marketing ideas and wants to share. He and Libby have been instrumental in "alpaca awareness" and measure their success in seeing the industry grow, as well as Magical Farms. Several words of wisdom that I will always associate with Jerry are: "It is as important from whom you buy as well as what you buy." I totally agree. The one area that I disagree is that he says everything has a price. He needs to look close to home!!!! Tripp Forstner is priceless. Tripp has been one of our "outstanding" finds. He is so well informed of the animals and their care, and offers the most prompt replies to questions and concerns. And those concerns are not limited to Magical Farm purchases!!!!! How many young men on the week they are married, take the time to check their messages, return calls, and make sure that someone helped you, even with him on his honeymoon!!!! Enough said!
